Reaching Atlanta Motor Speedway without a car is challenging. The track is located in Hampton, Georgia, about 25 miles south of downtown Atlanta, and it’s not well connected by public transit. However, there are a few alternatives that might work depending on your situation.
There is no direct MARTA or city bus service to Atlanta Motor Speedway. Some commuters try a combination of the MARTA train to the airport and then look for an Xpress bus toward Henry County. But these buses mostly run on weekdays and are not designed for race-day crowds. This option is not reliable for race weekends.
Rideshare services work fairly well for getting to the race. The problem is after the race ends. Demand spikes, drivers are limited, and the traffic around the track makes pickup spots chaotic. Prices go up, and wait times can be long. If you're using Uber or Lyft to get back, be ready to walk a bit away from the venue to improve your chances.
If you can, renting a car or sharing a ride with friends is the most straightforward solution. Parking is generally available if you arrive early, and you’ll have more control over your schedule.
Public transport isn’t ideal for this event. If you’re not driving yourself, the best alternatives are booking a shuttle ahead of time or using a rideshare to get there and arranging a different pickup point for your return.
